As a Journey for Change Global Ambassador from The Salvation Army Bushwick in Brooklyn, NY, I had a wonderful opportunity to travel to Ghana with Journey for Change and people from Touch A Life Foundation to meet rescued and current child slaves who are forced to work in the fishing industry. Today was an exciting, fun and anxious day for me here in Accra, Ghana! I was so anxious to meet Hilary, my partner from the Touch of Life program, and I finally met her. She lives at Village of Hope which is an orphanage with over 200 kids. She looked shy and happy at the same time. I felt so good inside, like she was my own sister. We began talking and she told me a little bit about herself and I told her about myself too. It looks like she is starting to get used to me. She even introduced me to some of her friends and her brother. After knowing some things about her, I think she is going to need a big sister to look up to and I will be there for her.
